the playground

“I really like your work.” But it’s not work, it’s play. This is a playground, and it’s always been a playground, but we forget that by taking ourselves so seriously, giving stuff, our “work”, a meaning, especially stuff that verifies or reverifies our place in this world/dream. What I bring to the playground in this moment is my toy camera, it’s my favorite toy right now. I’ve played with other toys in the past that I took to be important toys at the time, that I then tired of and moved on from, to the next and the next.

There were sports toys, creative toys and spiritual toys, but in the end, they were just toys I found on the playground and then left behind. So this toy camera, who knows when I’ll get bored and leave it behind on the playground. And it won’t matter any more than any of the other toys, and neither will the next one.

Cheers!
