sometimes

you have to go out and shoot to figure out what you don’t want to photograph…then delete, delete, delete…i am less inclined to keep going back to familiar places, feeling i have exhausted most of the prospects…and then sometimes it may just take trying a different lens, create a new and different perspective…perhaps…

  1. It’s funny that you posted this now…because for the past week or so I have been thinking about a photography project in which I would take a photo of the same thing (something in the natural world, in my backyard probably, or maybe this one pine tree in my neighborhood that I’m kind of in love with) every day for a year. I keep coming back to the idea. And now you bring me back once more.

    • I have a place like that in Durham, an alley, Alley 26. I have been going there, and shooting there for over ten years off and on. Lots of images, and haven’t decided what to do with them, a zine, a book, don’t know, but I always go there any time I am in downtown Durham.
