I have taken a 180 on the efficacy of this blog versus social media, instagram in particular. Let’s just say that I have never been mainstream about anything, so why should I start now.

The new zine is out from the printer and those who have seen it are quite complimentary so far. I prefer to see things in print, and after this most recent zine, which is all digital photography, I am concentrating on using film going forward. I have a new 35mm half frame camera, which in effect, doubles the number of shots per roll of film. It is quite small, and as you can see from the photo, fits in the palm of my hand.

I just finished the first roll, developed it and finished scanning the images today. Since there is no scanner for this type of half frame format, the images get scanned in twos, which I plan to work with, the pairing of shots. Here are a couple of examples.

This will be the only place going forward, where I will be posting images online. An art friend once told me that “nobody reads blogs anymore “. We have become a culture of scrollers, losing the capacity to stop long enough to read anything other than memes, or see an image for any longer than it takes to scroll to the next one. I am embracing the neoluddite philosophy, and refusing to participate in that any longer. I will use IG to post updates on zines and other related news, but that is it.
